Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to provide services and goods are:

  • Consent - we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the  right to withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our  legitimate interests are:
    • I am a Hypnotherapist and when working with a new client, I have to complete a thorough assessment to fully  understand the nature of the issue they are seeking help with. This assessment process also identifies any clients with specific conditions where hypnotherapy might be contraindicated. I need to gather relevant  personal details including: questions relating to their physical and  mental health\/wellbeing; the status of their personal\/professional       relationships and some familial information.

Client records are retained by Silverbrook Hypnotherapy for 8 years after the final session. This is in line with standard industry practice
