Please read carefully

Hypnotherapy Client Terms and Conditions

Silverbrook Hypnotherapy Ltd

1. Application of These Terms

These Terms and Conditions apply to all hypnotherapy services provided by Silverbrook Hypnotherapy Ltd, whether delivered online or in person (“the Services”).

By booking, paying for, or attending hypnotherapy sessions, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you (“the Client”) and Silverbrook Hypnotherapy Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy & Retention Policy and Cookie Policy, available on our website.

2. Eligibility

Hypnotherapy services are available to individuals aged 18 years or over only.

By booking a session, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old

  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract

  • All information you provide is accurate, complete, and not misleading

3. Nature of Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process. While techniques and guidance are provided, outcomes depend on your engagement, commitment, and circumstances.

Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or psychological treatment. No diagnosis is made, and no guarantees of outcome are offered.

4. Consultation Process

Before commencing hypnotherapy, we will arrange an initial consultation, usually by telephone, lasting approximately 30 minutes. This consultation is free of charge.

The purpose of the consultation is to:

  • Discuss the issue you wish to work on

  • Explain how Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy works

  • Assess suitability and identify any contraindications

  • Decide whether we are both comfortable proceeding

There is no obligation on either party to continue following this consultation.

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue therapy if hypnotherapy is not considered appropriate or if an alternative form of support would be more suitable.

5. Appointments and Delivery

Sessions are available online or in person. In-person sessions take place at locations advised at the time of booking. Online sessions are delivered via secure third-party platforms.

Sessions typically last 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have a suitable environment and reliable internet connection for online sessions.

6. Fees and Payment

Fees are confirmed at the time of booking and are payable in advance, either per session or as an agreed programme.

Payment confirms your booking and acceptance of these Terms.

7. Cancellation and Late Policy

By booking a session, you reserve time exclusively for your appointment.

  • Cancellations with more than 48 hours’ notice incur no charge

  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice incur a 50 percent fee

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, or non-attendance, are charged at the full session fee

If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time and the full fee remains payable.

To cancel or rearrange an appointment, please contact:
07459 004250 or annette@silverbrookhypnotherapy.co.uk

8. Client Responsibility and Commitment

Hypnotherapy requires active participation. You may be asked to practise techniques or complete exercises between sessions.

Progress depends on your willingness to engage with the process. You accept responsibility for your own actions, decisions, and wellbeing throughout and following therapy.

9. Contraindications and Medical Disclosure

Some medical or psychological conditions may require medical clearance before hypnotherapy can commence.

You agree to disclose any relevant medical or mental health conditions before and during therapy. We reserve the right to pause or refuse therapy if contraindications are present or emerge.

10. Conduct

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate sessions if:

  • You behave inappropriately or abusively

  • You attend sessions under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs

  • Continuing therapy would not be safe or appropriate

11. Confidentiality

All information shared during sessions is treated as confidential.

Confidentiality may be breached only where legally or ethically required, including situations involving:

  • Risk of serious harm to you or others

  • Safeguarding concerns

  • Legal obligations

Where possible, any breach of confidentiality will be discussed with you.

12. Data Protection

Your personal data is processed in accordance with UK data protection law. Full details are set out in our Privacy & Retention Policy.

13. Intellectual Property

All materials provided during hypnotherapy sessions remain the intellectual property of Silverbrook Hypnotherapy Ltd unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or share session materials without prior written consent.

Recording of sessions by clients is not permitted without explicit agreement.

14. Professional Standards

Silverbrook Hypnotherapy Ltd holds professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Annette Williams is a registered member of the General Hypnotic Register and adheres to its Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter which cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Loss of income, profits, or anticipated savings

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Outcomes or results not achieved through hypnotherapy

Our total liability is limited to the fees paid for the services provided.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will apply from the date they are published on our website.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales
